Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This website, headstartproductionsmedia.com (the "Site"), is operated by Headstart Productions & Media (Singapore business registration number 53517288E), referred to in this policy as "Headstart", "we", "us" or "our". We are a creative marketing agency that provides content, video, photography, advertising, web and related services, and sells digital products such as our Playbooks and our Video Packages.

We are committed to handling your personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA") and, where it applies, other data protection laws. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

2. What personal data we collect

Information you give us directly

• Enquiry forms on the Site: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, business name, the services you are interested in, your budget range and any message you include.
• Free playbook download form: your name, contact number, email address and industry.
• Video Package application and enquiry forms: your business details, contact details, website and social media links, information about your products, customers and goals, your content and filming preferences, and your answers to the questions on the form.
• Files you upload or share with us for a project, such as logos, brand assets, footage, photos and documents.
• Correspondence: the content of emails, WhatsApp messages and calls you have with us.

Purchase information

Payments on the Site are processed by Stripe. When you buy a product, Stripe collects your payment card details directly. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email address, billing country, the product purchased, the amount paid and a transaction reference so that we can deliver your purchase and keep accounting records. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and content delivery network automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit and the website that referred you. This information is used to keep the Site secure and working properly, and to understand how it is used. See section 7 on cookies.

3. How we use your personal data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To respond to your enquiries and applications, and to arrange calls or consultations with you.
• To deliver the products and services you purchase, including sending you access links, download links, guides and confirmation emails.
• To plan, produce and deliver creative work for you, which includes sharing your project details with the members of our team, videographers and partners involved in your project.
• To process payments, issue receipts and keep accounting and tax records.
• To send you marketing communications about our services, offers, resources and updates, where you have agreed to receive them (see section 4).
• To operate, secure and improve the Site, including detecting and preventing spam, fraud and misuse.
• To comply with our legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

4. Marketing communications

When you submit a form on the Site or purchase a product, we may contact you by email, phone or WhatsApp about the matter you contacted us about, and, where you have agreed, about our services, offers and resources that may interest you.

When you request our free playbook, the download form asks you to agree to be contacted by Headstart Productions regarding its services, offers, resources and updates through the contact details you provide. Ticking that box is your consent to those communications.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by replying to any message we send you, or by emailing support@headstartproductionsmedia.com. We will still send you messages that are necessary to deliver a product or service you have purchased.

5. Who we share your personal data with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only as described below:

• Service providers that process data on our behalf and on our instructions, such as our web hosting and email provider (Hostinger), our video streaming provider (Bunny.net) and the file storage and sharing services we use for project files (Dropbox and Google Drive).
• Our payment processor, Stripe, which processes your payment and the details you enter at checkout under its own terms and privacy policy, as an independent organisation.
• Advertising and analytics platforms (such as Meta, Google or TikTok), if and when we use their tools on the Site to measure and improve our advertising. These platforms process data under their own policies. See section 7 for our current position on tracking.
• Team members, videographers and production partners involved in delivering your project, to the extent they need your details to do so.
• Talent agencies and other third parties that you choose to engage on our recommendation. Any arrangement you make with them is directly between you and them, and their handling of your data is governed by their own policies.
• Authorities and advisers, where we are required to do so by law, a court order or a regulator, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, property or safety or those of others.
• A successor business, if we sell, merge or reorganise our business, in which case your data may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to the same protections.

6. International transfers

We are based in Singapore and work with an international team and international clients. Some of the service providers listed above store or process data outside Singapore. Where your personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it receives a standard of protection comparable to that required under the PDPA.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site does not currently use cookies or similar technologies for analytics or advertising. Our hosting and content delivery provider may use strictly necessary technical cookies to keep the Site secure and working properly.

Some pages embed content from third parties, such as the Stripe checkout, videos streamed from Bunny.net and fonts served by Google. These third parties may set their own cookies or collect technical information when that content loads.

If we introduce analytics or advertising tools in future, such as the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or the TikTok Pixel, we will update this section to describe what they collect and why before they are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the Site from working.

8. How long we keep your personal data

We keep your personal data for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, and afterwards for as long as we are required to by law. In general:

• Enquiries and applications are kept for as long as we are in contact with you about them, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you return to us.
• Purchase and project records are kept for as long as needed to provide your product or service, to keep our accounting and tax records, and to deal with any questions or disputes.
• Marketing contact details are kept until you opt out.

You may ask us to delete your personal data at any time. We will do so unless we need to keep it to complete a service you have purchased, to meet a legal obligation, or to deal with a dispute.

9. How we protect your personal data

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration or loss. These include secure hosting, encrypted connections to the Site, access controls, and personal, time-limited or account-bound links for the products you purchase. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities where required if a breach affecting your personal data occurs.

10. Your rights

Under the PDPA you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you and find out how we have used or disclosed it in the past year.
• Correct any personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Withdraw consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal data, with reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain products or services to you.

In addition, you may ask us to delete your personal data. We will do so subject to the retention rules in section 8.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within the time required by law.

11. Children

The Site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party websites

The Site contains links to other websites and services, including social media platforms, Stripe, Dropbox and Google. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with any personal data.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated policy. If a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
